Alignment Issues
Well, last week I got in my car, and started on my way home. I knew something just wasn’t right. As soon as I got on the highway, I found out what it was. The steering was not correct, I had to hold the wheel to the left to go in a straight line. Now, the tracking wasn’t out, the car was not pulling if I let go of the wheel. So I booked an appointment with Victoria Star to get it looked at.
Wednesday morning saw me taking the car out for a test drive with the service tech. He also owns a Smart, so I felt I was in safe hands. They said all it needed was an alignment and that it would be about $180. I agreed to this and went back to work while they worked on my car.
Picking it up later in the day, all seemed to be corrected. Imagine my anger when, upon getting home and checking on my thread on http://clubsmartcar.ca , to find out that, on a smart, there is a bolt that connects the steering to the steering wheel (I suck at mechanics, so bear with me), and all that needed to be corrected was that. Which I could probably do myself. So now I feel kind of robbed by the dealership (who doesn’t though) and suckered into paying for something that my car really didn’t need. Bah!
